Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hi everyone, John here, and today we're taking a look at the Saris MHS on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great way to have a tire hold platform style bike rack that can get your heavier bikes out to the trails and on the road that's gonna encapsulate a lot of your heavier mountain bikes and your e-bikes so you won't have to worry about as much. Now let's say you don't have as heavy of bikes and you have carbon frame or odd framed bikes. You luckily have a way of holding it by the tires, not only by the arms, but also we have these straps down here just for some extra stability. But overall, that's a really good setup. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 hitch bike rack and how it fits on a 2018 Ford Escape. The Sherpa is going to be a two-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting up to 40 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily with these wheel hook here and one strap down at the bottom. So if you wanna mix and match your bikes, if you want to use a carbon frame bike, you can, 'cause there's no frame contact and because it doesn't make that frame contact, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame, that'll work too. One of the earliest features that I wanna show off about this rack is that it has the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded up. more

So if you wanna mix and match, this will accommodate your carbon frame bikes, since this is no frame contact, and alternative frame style bikes that might have a crazy design. Also, if you wanna get some kids bikes on here, there are adapters for these sold separately, but you can put those on to accommodate those two. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination Two Bike Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2018 Ford Escape. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds each. And it's going to be holding onto our bike primarily by these rotated padded clamps that go up and down our center mast. They do swivel and they are padded, but we still don't recommend using bikes like carbon frame bikes because it could potentially damage the frame as that's where our main point of contact is. And it's also gonna hold on with two straps, one on the back and one on the front wheel. more

Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack here on a 2020 Ford Escape. The Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack is gonna be a hanging style bike rack as you can see, and it can carry up to five bikes, which makes it a fantastic option for the Ford Escape. Now, let's take a look at how it fits on there. From directly behind the Escape, looking at how the rack fits on here, you can see that your back windshield is gonna be pretty much obstructed, especially when you do load all the way up to five bikes on here. Your backup camera and your license plate will have reduced visibility, your third brake light from your cowling should still be visible to the drivers behind you, but with five bikes on here, again, with the tires hanging off to both sides, your taillights will be obstructed. more

Swagman XTC2 TILT 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Welcome to etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 Tilt here on a 2020 Ford Escape. Right out the gate, the big things to note for this bike rack are you gonna have a 35-pound weight capacity per cradle. It's not gonna be compatible with Class I hitches for the inch and a quarter. It's only gonna work with the Class II and it's gonna have the frame hook to hold it down inside of the wheel hoops, which is gonna make it incompatible with carbon frame bikes. Taking a look at how the rack sits on the back of the Escape here today, you can see that your back windshield is gonna have most of its visibility retained. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Swagman Current Bike Rack here on the 2020 Ford Escape. The Swagman Current is uniquely designed to handle electric bikes, so it's gonna have a 60 pound weight capacity per cradle in the two inch by two inch hitches, and it's gonna use a wheel hook design to secure the bike down into the two cradles. The hooks on here are very nice, because they do have such a thick padding. However, because they are hooks that clamp down on the frame, they will make it incompatible with any carbon frame bikes you may have. Looking at how the rack sits on here with a bike loaded up, we can see that our third brake light cowling is still fairly visible to any drivers behind us. more

Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Howdy everyone, John here and today we're taking a look at the Thule Helium on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great wheel tire hold for your lighter bikes. So let's take a closer look. It's able to hold by the wheels, so any of your odd shaped frame or your carbon frames are gonna be perfect for this. And in my opinion, whenever it comes to handles for these arms, this is probably one of the best for the wheel hold type. It's going to be a little bit goofy to push down, but overall, once you get it, it's much easier to work with this than some others, like the Inno Tire Hold, which has it down here, so you have to hold onto the arms as you push forward and press the button at the same time. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Freedom on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The Saris Freedom is a platform style bike rack. It's gonna hold the bike in these wheel cradles at the bottom and by our frame up top it's gonna be a cradle with a strap that runs around the frame to hold it in place. Any sort of frame contact means we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes but with the way this slides up and down along the mast independently from the other one and rotates 360 degrees it is gonna be able to adapt to alternative frame bikes. The other great thing about this is that it does support a weight of 60 pounds per bike. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination 2 Bike Rack, on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The Destination is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays. We've got some wheel straps down at the bottom that pull the bike down and in, and then we've got a cradle for the frame up top, with a strap run around the frame to hold it upright. Overall, we get a pretty strong hold on the bike, and for a more entry-level rack, this is one that I really like. I recommended it to my own brother and a lot of family members because I think it's a great value. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima Stage two, two-bike platform rack here on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that can carry your heavy duty bikes. You have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so, it's gonna be great for your heavy electric bikes. And we also have an added ramp that you can get additionally to help make your bike loading and unloading a little bit easier. But since it is a front wheel mount this is also gonna be great for your carbon fiber frame bikes, as well as, anything with an odd-shaped frame bike as well. One of the great features about this rack is that you can tilt it away with the bikes loaded on there, and I like where the handle is at to tilt it away, it's right here. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two bike platform rack for an 1 1/4" and 2" hitches on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that's gonna allow you to carry bikes of up to 45 pounds per bike. It is a frame hold, so if you have a carbon frame style bike or anything with a weird shaped frame, this might not be the one for you. But this does have a lot of great value considering its price point because you can tilt it away with the bikes still loaded. And that way we can access our hatch, grab anything we might need, even sit in there and change our shoes. So we have three attachment points keeping your bike on the rack. more

Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-Bike Platform Rack here on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is honestly probably my favorite rack, all the details and features all add up and make it a really pleasant experience working with this rack. First and foremost, you have a 67 pound weight capacity, so it's gonna be great for carrying those heavy electric bikes, and since it is a dual wheel mount, you don't have to worry about your carbon frame bikes, the women's bikes, or anything with a weird shaped frame. I'm gonna go ahead and start by tilting it away, there is a lever back here, you just push that and tilt it away, and now, we can go ahead and grab anything out of our hatch. We have plenty of room to even sit down, change our shoes if we need. What makes this one of my favorite racks is just how quick it is to take your bike on and off the rack, giving you more time to enjoy your bike ride. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hi to everyone, John here, and today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination E-Bike on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great choice if you need to get your e-bikes or your bigger fat tire bikes out onto the trail, and get to riding. It's going to have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, along with a 4.5 wheel width maximum, which is really good. You'll be able to hold the majority of your bikes that you run into, whether those are mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, or e-bikes. Along with that, I do wanna point out that this is frame mounted, so, if you have odd shaped frames, it's a little bit hard to work with. As you can see, even though we have a straight frame, it's still a little bit of a pain to, kind of, get in the right position, and then, also you won't be able to use this on any kind of carbon frame, so that's always something to keep in mind, but, if you happen to have something that's a little bit sturdier and heartier, I think this is gonna be a good choice. more

So this is gonna have a 35 weight capacity per bike, so that's gonna be pretty good for your road bikes and some of your lighter mountain bikes, but I would not recommend this for heavier, fat tire bikes or e-bikes. It's also not gonna be great for any odd shaped frame bikes or any kind of carbon frame because it is frame-mounted. So keep that in mind. more

Hey everyone, Charles here, at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer, 2-Bike Platform Rack, for an inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, on a 2020 Ford Escape. So, this also comes in just a two inch hitch version. And that will allow you to carry 60 pounds per bike. But, for the inch and a quarter and two inch version, that we have here, we're gonna be able to carry up to 40 pounds per bike. So, being a front wheel hold, and nothing's touching the frame, this is gonna be excellent for the carbon frame style bikes, women's step-through bikes or anything with an odd shaped frame. more

Kuat NV 2-0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
How's it going Ethan with etrailer here to show you the NV Base 2.0 on the 2020 Ford Escape. So with the NV Base, you have the wheel hook here as your primary point of contact and the strap in the back as your secondary point, so there's no contact with the frame at all, which is great for carbon bikes or alternative frame bikes. So your wheel base here will support you from anywhere up to 50 inches, and the weight capacity is about 60 pounds per bike, so it'll support most of your larger mountain bikes and maybe even some e-bikes. So if you come down here, you can see this pedal that allows you to tilt this back, and that gives you a little bit more room to see if you can't get enough clearance to open your hatch. So as you can see here, plenty of room, no real troubles with that. They go right back down, and then you can come right back around to the front, lift this guy up until you hear a click, and then you should be nice and secure and ready to go. more

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack 4-Bike Rack Carrier here in the back of our 2020 Ford Escape. Now, I got seemingly a nice little way of giving yourself a decent little hanging style rack to get your bikes to your destination or wherever the drill might be taking you. Now, you are getting a very nice subset in between these cradles and you guys can see pretty good spacing between each per bike. That way, we can go ahead, get our four bikes up on here with hopefully reducing a lot of the contact we're gonna have. Now, with any hanging style rack, they're gonna have sway, your bikes are seating, hanging on these two dual arm supports. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0, here in the back of our 2020 Ford Escape. Now the Sherpa is gonna be an excellent looking bike rack. Of course, it's got that Kuat style throughout it. You guys here today, we have the gunmetal gray and we have some nice little copper orange accents throughout the entirety of the platform, which is of course gonna be nice to look at, but it doesn't just stop there. You're gonna have a lot of great capabilities with the Sherpa, with the 40 pound capacity per bike. We should have no trouble getting most of the bikes that we need up on here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey, everybody, Welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, And today we're taking a look at the Swagman XC2 here on the back of our 2020 Ford Escape. Now this can be a nice simple way of giving yourself a little carrier to get your bikes to and fro wherever your destination might be taking you. Now, in my opinion, you guys are gonna see, very minimalistic rack, which is gonna give you some nice little features to go ahead and accommodate for a variety of different bikes. However, can be excellent for yourself if you want something really small and compact. It's gonna be really easy to take off your car, get it inside your apartment, wherever, smaller storage areas, the option's gonna have no trouble with it, as it does go ahead and fold up quite nicely for ourselves. So, big takeaway for me, this is gonna be great for yourself. more
